1stDay:Athens
Arrive to Athens, meeting with a local guide at the airport and transfer to the center of the city. We will have for a first glance a city tour with a bus where our quide will point out The House of parliament, the Tomb off Unknown soldier ,the presidential palace and the athletic stadium that hosted the first modern Olympic Games IN 1896 Panathenaic Stadium kallimarmaro.Evening free to relax and enjoy the city of Athens
2ndDay:Athens Acropolis-Old city
After breakfast we will visit the Acropolis, The Parthenon, Erectheum .We will visit Areios Pagos the rocky hill where the Apostle Paul he preached Christianity to the Athenians for the first time. Additional sites include the new acropolis museum and the Agora ancient market place. We walk through the narrow streets the famous Plaka with many shops and cafes. we will go back in time to 1050 admiring the little church of “PANAGIA KAPNIKAREA” on of the most important Byzantine monuments in ATHENS in the middle of Ermou street. Next, we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of ATHENS on Mitropoleos street.Evening free.
3thDay:Patras “Achaia Clauss Winery”-Ancient Olympia
After having breakfast, we departure for the Peloponnese and the city Of Patras with a short stop at the Isthmos the Corinthian canal. Arrival to the third largest city in Greece and we will visit the Cathedral of Agios Andreas, the largest Orthodox church in Greece and one of the largest in the Balkans. We continue our tour with the visit Achaia Clauss Winery. You will be a guided tour Around the premises and you will have the experience of wine. Arrival in the afternoon in Ancient Olympia.Overnight
4thDay:Ancient Olympia-Ioannina
After breakfast we will have a guided tour at the Ancient Olympia and the Archaeological site. Olympia was the most glorified sanctuary of ancient Greece dedicated to Zeus. It was the venue of the Olympic Games, the greatest sporting event of antiquity, from 776 BC. They united all the Greeks of the then known world every four years. We will take you on sightseeing tour in the ancient stadium, the temple of Zeus and Hera. Then we proceed to Ioannina crossing the Magnificent suspension bridge Rio -Antirio. Late in the afternoon arrival to Ioannina with the beautiful lake Pamvotis. Ioannina is the capital and largest city of regional unit and of Epirus. Overnight.
5rdDay:Zagorochoria
Following breakfast departure for the Zagorochoria which are forty-six scattered settlements, located in Zagori, Epirus, in an area in the Pindos mountain range .We will visit the Gorge of Vikos It is a magical location with great ecological value. Enjoy the most complete view from spectacular viewpoints. You will have a wonderful opportunity to taste the local dishes such as pies, cheeses…Return to Ioannina to explore the city with many legends and traditions. Overnight.
6thDay:Metsovo-Meteora-Kalampaka
After breakfast we will visit Metsovo one of the most traditional towns of Epirus. Τraditional products such as the smoked Metsovian cheese where they will show us how it is made and wait for us to try it, red wine and artefucts. Next stop is Meteora. a rock formation with six (of an original twenty-four) monasteries are built on immense natural pillars and hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the local area. Between the 13th and 14th centuries, were established atop the rocks. unique collection of icons and an incredible panoramic view. Νext we will visit Kalambaka the small town which is built at the foot of the rocks.Overnight.
7thDay:Vergina-Naousa
After breakfast departure for Vergina the Archaeological Site of Aigai , the ancient first capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia, was discovered in the 19th century near Vergina, in northern Greece. The most important remains are the monumental palace, lavishly decorated with mosaics and painted stuccoes, and the burial ground with more than 300 tumuli, some of which date from the 11th century B.C. One of the royal tombs in the Great Tumulus is identified as that of Philip II, Next stop the city of Naousa. A city with a special color, traditional neighborhoods and sights, traditional flavors, the city of wine. Overnight.
8thDay:Edessa-Athens
After breakfast departure for Edessa, also known as the «City of Waters and of the 5 Senses». An area that nature generously bestowed its beauties. You can walk next to its rivers, admire its Waterfalls, all ready to give you an unforgettable experience. The waterfalls of Edessa ..the biggest in the Balkans have the unique privilege in the world to be located in the center of the city. Returning to Athens with a few stops. Arrival Athens. Overnight
9thDay:Athens
After breakfast, day free in the historic city of Athens for shopping, museums or visit the coast for swim or you could take the optional excursion to Cape Sounio. In the evening Greek night with traditional music and dancing.
10thDay:Athens-Return Flight
Transfering from your hotel to the Airport for your returning flight.
