Tour Program
1st Day: Athens – Constantinople
We meet at the «El.Venizelos» Athens Airport for our flight to Constantinople. Originally, when we arrive in the city, we visit the Church of St. George in the Ecumenical Patriarchate, at Fanari. Then we go for pilgrimage to the monastery of Our Lady (Virgin Mary) of Blacherna. We continue our visit to the Ottoman palace of Topkapi and the Archaeological Museum with the rich ancient Greek exhibits. There is a tour of the Byzantine Hippodrome, the Egyptian Obelisk, the Delphi Tripod, the German Fountain, and the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet. We then propose an optional cruise to the Bosporus to enjoy the wooden yali (seaside villas), the Galatas Tower, Bosphorus’s first and second suspension bridge. We return to the hotel for overnight stay.
2nd Day:Bursa or Free of Schedule Day
We have our breakfast and follow an optional full-day excursion to the town of Bursa. We cross the bridge to Asian Turkey and through Gialova we are pointed to Bursa. We see the large Green Mosque, and the Mausoleum of Sultan Tzelepi and the Tomb of Karagioz. Then we have free time to visit the most economical market in Turkey. We return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Free time is offered for more activities.
3rd Day:Dolma Bahce- Prigiponisia – Oriental Entertainment
At first, We have our breakfast and then we tour the Dolma Bahce Museum, which was the palace of the Sultans. Immediately after, we depart for the port of the city and we take the ship to visit the Prigiponisia. Initially we make a short visit to Chalki and then to Pringipos. There is a lunch on a beach tavern and a ride on the carriage to enjoy the old aristocratic villas of old Byzantines and other attractions. In the evening we are transported to a luxurious entertainment club with local oriental dances. We return to the hotel for overnight stay.
4th Day: Saint Sophia- Convent of Choras(Land)- Baloukli- Closed Market
After having our breakfast, we start our tour by visiting one of the most imposing monuments of Old Istanbul, Agia Sophia. We continue on to the church of Zoodochos Pigi, in Balukli, where there is the marvelous Holy Water, the Monastery of Pantokratoras, the Monastery of Stoudios and the Theodosian walls where the last emperor defeated, the tombs of the Patriarchs and the cistern with the traditional fish. Our next stop is in the Monastery of Chora with its famous mosaics. . Free time is offered in the closed market with 4216 stores. For those who follow the 4-day program of the excursion depart to the airport for the return flight to Athens. The rest of the tourists return to the hotel for overnight stay.
5th Day:Constantinople-Athens
We have our breakfast. Today the day is free for us. We visit and enjoy our coffee at the unique CIRAGAN PALACE or at MARMARA or at INTERCONTINENTAL overlooking the Bosphorus and Constantinople. We choose one of the unique restaurants in the ORTAKOY area on the sea for dining. We complete our shopping on the market of Taxim Square. Finally, we transfer to the airport for our return flight to Athens.
