1st Day: Αthens-Constantinople-Baloukli
We depart from Athens Airport «Eleftherios Venizelos» at 06.00am. After our arrival in Constantinople we start our tour from Baloukli. Τhere is the miraculous Holy Water, Patriarchs Tombs and the tank of tranditional fish. Then we visit the Monastery of Virgin Mary(Panagia) from Vlaherna, where the Akathyst Hymn was chanted. Next, we make a visit to the Church of Zoodochos Pigi (Source of Life) and then we proceed to the monastery of Choras (Land or Country) with the famous mosaics, the prettiest in the world. We stop for a pilgrimage in the Ecumenical Patriarchate which is the centre of Οrthodoxy.Finally, we arrive late in the afternoon at our hotel for dinner and overnight.
2ndDay:Constantinople-Saint Sophia-Τop Kapi
After breakfast, we start our tour to the unique historic sightseeing of Constantinople. We visit the Byzantine Hippodrome and the Byzantine Walls where the Bronze Tripod of Delphi, the Obelisk of Theodosios and the Stele of Constantinos Palaiologos are hosted. The next waypoint is the Blue Mosque, the Aqueduct, and the Justinian’s Byzantine Cellar Tank.Today’s tour in Constantinople ends visiting the miracle of the Byzantine architecture, which is not other than that of Aghia Sophia
Aghia Sophia, stands there for more than 1000 years which sequentially has served as a Christian Orthodox Church and as a muslim mosque, while in nowadays runs as a museum. After we come to visit Top Kapi, Sultans’ habitation place of Ottoman Empire. Top Kapi is a labyrinthal complex place of gardens and buildings that today acts as a Museum and it has been declared by Unesco Monument of Universal Heritage. We return to the hotel for a while and then we have dinner into a local restaurant.
3rd Day:Cappadocia-Caesarea-Prokopi
We set off with an early flight for Ceasarea. There we start our travelogue to the volcanic region of Cappadocia where nature created the cones, the canyons, and the valleys composing a magnificent view. Our first visit is in Prokopi where the houses and the mansions of unique beauty are saved by the time the Greek Community had been prospering. Here we make a visit to the house where Saint John the Russian had lived for 17 years. We continue to the carved castle UCHISAR, the outdoor museum of Koramatos with the decadal carved, on the rock, churches and the Lavra of Gioreme Valley. We visit five churches of miraculous wall-paintings. Some of the churches are, the Church of Milou, Saint Barbara’s Church, the Church of Snake, the Dark Church, the Church of Sandalon and others. We end up the tour of the day by visiting the underground city of Malakopi.
4thDay:Prokopi-Sinasso
We have our breakfast and set off for the noble city of Sinassos where modern-classic buildings of wealthy Greeks dominate. Then we go on to the remarkable Temple of Saints Constantinos and Eleni. After, we move on to Karvali with the greek houses, the Girls’ School which today is serving as a hotel, the Saint Gregory’s Temple which today is a mosque, the canyon of Peristremmatos in which the river runs through it while the churches and the hermitages are built along its sides. We stay overnight in Prokopi.
5th Day: Ceasarea-Farasa
Early in the morning, we have our breakfast and then we start our day by walking around in the city of Great Vasilios,Caesarea, for a while. Then we move to Farasa. There we make a visit to the temple of Saint Arsenios of Cappadocia who served and baptised Saint Paisios Ayioritis (from the Holy Mount). Finally, we return to Athens with the afternoon flight of Turkish Airlines.
