Tour Program Of Prophet Helias Holy Church in Pagkrati

Thursday-18/10/2018: Athens-Tel Aviv (Holy Land)

We meet at Athens Airport, «El.Venizelos» destined for the Holy Land of Tel Aviv. We arrive at Ben Gourion Airport.

The first stop of our tour is the area of Lydda to worship the tomb of St. George. We go to Samaria in the Jacob’s Well, where Jesus met the Samaritan.

Next we kneel before the relic of the Hieromartyr Philomenos of the Holy Sepulcher at St. Fotini’s Church. In the town of Sebasteia we visit the prison that St. John the Baptist (Prodromos) was killed. There we bow down to his tomb.

Free time is available to get to know Tel Aviv’s Holy Land. We return to the hotel to dine and overnight.

Friday-19/10/2018: Jerusalem

Breakfast time. We start our guided tour from the Resurrection Temple in the the Holy Land of Jerusalem. We continue to the Place of Lord’s Lowering from the Cross, the Tomb of the Lord, the terrible Calvary and the place of finding the Holy Cross. Coming from the Holy Temple of Resurrection, we worship the place of «touch me not» where the Lord appeared to Mary Magdalene.

We continue our visit to the chapel of St. Jacob. Then we go to the Russian Monastery of St Alexander Nevsky, where the gate from which the Lord went to Golgotha was rescued. Then we go down the road of Martyr, visit the Pretoria, the Pool of Bethesda, the Holy Monastery of St. Anna and the Prison of Apostle Peter.

Coming out of the wall, we bow down to the place of martyrdom of First Martyr Stephanos and end up in Gethsemane where the Tomb of the Virgin is located. We go to the Garden of Agony. We return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Saturday-20/10/2018:Jericho

We depart for Jericho after having our breakfast. We climb to the Holy Monastery of Saint George of Chojevite and the Holy Monastery of Sarandari (Temple of Temptations). We go to the waters of the Prophet Elijah and worship to the Holy Monastery of Prophet Elijah. There is also the Sycamore, which Zachaeus went up.

We continue to the place of the Baptism of the Lord in the Jordan river, where the Divine Liturgy of Ablution is commited, and the Holy Monastery of St. Gerasimus of Jordan. Returning we head to Bethany, where the tomb of St. Lazarus and the Holy Monastery of Martha and Mary are.

We go back to Jerusalem at the Lord’s Ascension Point after we have visited the Monastery of Little Galilee and Bethsphagi. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel follow.

Sunday-21/10/2018:Tiberias

Since we have finished our breakfast, we set off on Tiberias. We visit the Thavorio Mountain, at the top of which the Transfiguration of the Lord was made. Then we head to Nazareth, the Temple of the Annunciation, where the Virgin Mary received the angelic message.

Our next pilgrimage is in Cana of Galilee, where the Lord’s first miracle took place. Immediately afterwards we go to Lake Tiberias. There we visit the Holy Monastery of the Holy Apostles in Capernaum, where the Lord called His disciples to the Apostolic Order. In the city of Capernaum most of the miracles of the Lord were performed. We return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Monday-22/10/2018:Bethlehem

Today we take a tour to the Holy Land of Bethlehem where Christ was born and we go to the cave of the 14.000 Nipples who were slaughtered by Herod. We also visit the Shepherd’s Pilgrimage, .

The pilgrimage to St. Theodosius the Parliamentary founder of the communal life follows. In the basement next to the Temple there are the tombs of St. Theodosius, Saint Ioannis, Saint Sophia, mother of Saint Sava of the Sanctuary, Saint Theodoti, mother of Saint Anargyros Kosmas and Damianos and St. Mary, mother of St. Arkadi and John. A Pilgrimage visit follows in Saint Savvas Holy Churc, to the desert of Judea and to the Holy Church of Prophet Helias.

Τuesday-23/10/2018:Bethlehem – Athens

Free time is given to stroll to the old Jerusalem city. We go to the Olive Mountain where our Lord’s Ascension took place and in Bethphage. In Katamonas where is the tomb of Saint Symeon the Righteous the monastery of Holy Cross and the Mountain area where Saint John the Baptist was born.

We depart to the airport to fly back to Athens.

• Participations in the last 15 days of the departure must be accompanied by a refund of the total amount of the tour.
• The excursion cost must be paid at least one month before departure.
